His expertise covers a broad array of corporate transactions and contract negotiations including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other general business, employment/non-compete, and contract matters. He has also formed and worked with private investment companies focused on purchasing privately held stock in companies such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other companies prior to their initial public offerings. Tim has been named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and was named to the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal’s 20 under 40 list in 2015. Prior to starting Maloney Law, Tim was a Partner in the Business Finance Department at Rosenn, Jenkins Greenwald, LLP.
As an undergrad Tim majored in Finance and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1998. He received his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2003. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. Tim grew up in Dunmore, Pennsylvania and graduated from Scranton Preparatory School in 1994. Prior to returning to Northeast Pennsylvania in 2010, he practiced in a corporate securities law firm in New York City and at a start-up insurance company and risk management consulting business in Washington, D.C. Tim resides in Scranton with his wife Samantha and their four children.

Tim Maloney
Attorney Timothy J. Maloney founded Maloney Law, P.C. on December 1, 2017. Maloney Law P.C. assists clients in all aspects of Corporate Law, including Business Transactions, Real Estate & Title Insurance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Financing, Contracts and Agreements, Employment Matters, and Estate and Succession Planning.
Utilizing the experience and expertise developed in New York City and Washington, D.C., Tim has represented and advised businesses, limited liability companies, partnerships and corporate clients in all stages of development. He frequently works with entrepreneurs and start-up companies in the formation and expansion of their businesses. He also provides guidance to growth-stage companies in raising funds through private placements of debt and equity securities. Samuel DeStefano
Attorney Sam DeStefano was born and raised in Scranton. He developed an early interest in the law and pursued a B.B.A. in Legal Studies at Temple University, graduating magna cum laude in May 2017. While at Temple, he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society. He also served as a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.
During this time, Sam gained valuable experience working as a Records Clerk at Weber Gallagher LLP, where he was responsible for general administrative assistance and later promoted to the workers' compensation file clerk in the Philadelphia office. During his time at Weber Gallagher, Sam also oversaw the department's Twitter account and helped to increase the account's following and engagement.
Sam was accepted into the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and continued to build on his experiences. Not only was he awarded the Dean's Scholarship, he also served as a Legal Writing Teaching Assistant for Professor Judith Teeter, was an Associate Editor of the Pittsburgh Tax Review, and was a Pitt Law Ambassador. In addition to his legal education activities, Sam also worked as a Legal Intern at Excalibur Insurance Management Services in Pittsburgh, where he worked closely with claim adjusters to manage claims, perform legal research for in-house counsel, denied claims that seemed suspicious, adjusted medical reserves, and ensured that all medical bills for open claims were paid.

Building on this experience, our subject became a Law Clerk at Woomer & Talarico LLC in Pittsburgh in February 2020. In this role, Sam drafted and edited various pleadings, as well as interviewed clients in order to prepare discovery documents, including: Interrogatories, Answers to Interrogatories, and Requests for Admissions. Additionally, Sam researched legal issues and drafted legal settlement demands.
